The $1 Billion Instagram Success Story, Instagram Style- by Danny Brown You can’t blame a company like Instagram to turn down a lucrative offer and by now you all know that Facebook paid a pretty penny for this gem. Danny brings it home and chronicles their story from how they began (with images) to their fairy-tale ending with Facebook. Stop Crying About Free Services, by Michael Schechter Are you upset when a company sells out by a company you don’t like? Do you think they are evil or just plain lucky? We all use social media outlets and while most are free we still complain. I love this well-thought out post asking why some of us still whine about Free services. Why Facebook Will Become The Most Dangerous Company On Earth, by Michael Schaefer Here we go again with Facebook and the topic of them becoming public. What does that mean for you and how will it shape Facebook for years to come. Remember back in the 90’s when Yahoo was the darling of the internet; they went public and saw success. But what happened after that: Google and Yahoo’s dominance went down the drain. Since becoming public they have found it harder to turn a profit and have become a distant 3rd when it comes to advertising. It’s no wonder I sold my stock years ago. Will Facebook have the same fate when they can’t turn a profit? The Bastardization of Pinterest Has Begun: A Rant, by Dan Perez Not everyone likes Pinterest, but this post can definitely cover some annoying things some people post on their boards. I can’t say I agree with this rant, but I appreciate diversity in his thoughts. Take a look and decide for yourself. What Golfer Bubba Watson Can Teach You About Blogging, by John Paul Aguiar If you haven’t heard, Bubba Watson, not Tiger won this year’s coveted “Green Jacket” at the prestigious Masters Golf Tournament a week ago. I have to say he came out of nowhere and just hit the right shots that needed to be made, but the best part was that he deserved to win. John tells a story about a golfer that did it his way and how you can do the same.Blog Design

We all face this dilemma starting out and choosing the right designer to help you build it is just as scary. This post really breaks it down on what costs you will incur and why. Sometimes seeing the perspective from the other side really makes picking the right web designer the first time. Remember: you get what you pay for.Blogging

Hi Sonia,
Great list of posts you’ve put together
I’ve been to some already during the week but you’ve brought my attentions to others that I haven’t.
I enjoyed the rant about pinterest and can see where the fella’s coming from. But it is open to everyone and as it was said in some of the comments, if you don’t want to see some of the boards don’t link up to them.
I have only been there a short while myself and I’ve noticed a lot of people having loads of boards with zero pins in them. I’ve also noticed loads of boards with just one pin. Strange but that’s how they roll, I won’t be following anyone like that
Thanks for including Ileane’s post. I was told about it earlier this week but hadn’t managed to get over there. I’ve just put that right Sonuia thanks
One thing though….. Could you make the links open in a new page please, pretty please with cherries on?
I’ve been dancing back and forth reading some of the posts and then coming back again to comment
Thanks Sonia, have a great weekend

Hey Barry, I didn’t know the links were doing that. I thought I had did that, but I will make sure to go back and fix that. Sorry about that. Dan’s rant was pretty funny, but I agree with the one post in some boards. I figure if you create board add to it or don’t create it all. Thanks Barry for the heads up.

Wow, some really strong opinions on some of these posts! I love to hate Facebook so I appreciated Michael Schaefer’s post. I think I’ll stalk him this week
Thank you for filling up my RSS feed once again.
Oh, and yes, I think Pinterest has become a total spam party. Wait until everyone figures out how to use it for affiliate marketing. Seems obvious, I’m just surprised more people haven’t gone down that road.
And thanks for including me on your list! You rock, as always!

I know wasn’t that post funny. Did you see the one from Dan Perez? Makes you think. I love Pinterest for the fun, but I am starting to see some individuals make it about a “sell” and it’s great that you don’t have to follow, but I wish there an ignore button. Anytime girl!
