Have you ever met someone and you are just drawn into what they have to say? Their personality, words and smile just suck you in like glue? Then you read their blog and get a more in depth view of who they are mentally. So let’s take a leap and just talk about you!
My goal with this post is to just get to know my fellow bloggers and sometimes the best way is to just let people talk about them self and let it roll. Instead of talking about the usual stuff I probably already know, I want to know about the “unique” things about you that I don’t know.
(DON”T FOLLOW THESE QUESIONS) just something to get you thinking….
- Do you excel at a particular sport?
- Have you seen a certain movie thousands of times?
- Are you obsessed with certain foods?
- Do you promote something unique and different that no one has ever heard of?
- Do you have some unique goals your trying to meet? What are they?
- Do you make anything cool?
Share it with everyone! Keep it fun and join in…this won’t be fun without you!
I will start this off and let you in on some weird unique stuff about me:
- I am superstitious and do certain things in a certain way all the time (I hate bad luck)
- I have watched the Star Wars & Indiana Jones Trilogy more than a 100 times (ok, I watch too much TV)
- I have memorized the lines for the Movie: Grease 2 (Yeah, yeah I know the movie flopped)
- I am afraid of heights
- I love fishing on the lake, but have a fear of drowning (come on people, you know black people don’t swim!)
- I have visited just about every National Park in Northern California.
- My Favorite TV show is the Are You Being Served?
- I want to travel to Fiji, Egypt and Alaska before I die.
- I hate when people talk too much (sometimes knowing when to shut is up good)
- Exercise keeps me sane.
Your turn: tell me what the 10 Oddest and Unique things about you are!
Thanks everyone for playing along, I want this to be fun and just let it roll.

I love the fact that you want to take an approach about keeping it real on a christian stand point. There is only one other blog that is exactly where you want to be and she is truly inspirational. Here is her link: http://www.empoweredpeace.org/
thanks….
I love your goal…
I am trying to be authentic in my online persona, which means owning my entire journey, not just the parts of my journey that might not offend or bother some people…
I am NOT ashamed, and I am standing up, and starting to blog like it.

Hi Meredith and welcome. Authenticity is key when your starting out because I think it’s how develop your own voice. When I started, it was for different reasons, but when I figured out how I could actually help other people with what I have learned I found that to be more beneficial to me. I love it when I read blogs and the author stands up for their beliefs. It’s their passion and determination that fuels me to keep doing what I am doing. Thank you for sharing what your doing and I will be stopping by!
I’ll refresh some things you may already know, Sonia and mix in a few new ones:
1- I wake up every morning to a Pop/Rock song. I have my playlist set on my phone so that every morning, I’m hopping up to Maroon 5, Wham!, Duran Duran, etc. Pop/Rock is up-tempo enough to get my attention, but doesn’t startle me senseless as it wakes me.
2. I turned down an opportunity to try out for a band that was to perform for a local Luther Vandross concert. I wasn’t a huge Luther fan and although it was just playing with him for one show, I was too young (17) to appreciate the opportunity I was being given.
3. My favorite food is Mexican.
4. The very first celebrity I ever met was Mr. T.
5. I used to be a sportswriter. Small-time, but a sportswriter for the local newspaper. My favorite event that I covered was a minor league hockey game.
6. I went to middle school with Faith Hill. She was Faith Perry at the time and four years older than me.
7. I can’t enjoy watching any crime-time drama (Law & Order, CSI, etc.) without The Mrs. present. She got me into those shows and now if she’s not on the couch with me, I don’t watch them.
8. I saw “New Jack City” seven times in seven days on a bet of who can get the most dates in a week. All of mine wanted to see this movie.
9. I will rabbit punch anyone who tries to approach me with a snake in their hands.
10. I’ve been told by many that I’m the only straight guy that anyone knows who loved the show “Ugly Betty.”
NO WAY! MR T!

Q! I am so jealous you got to meet Mr T! That is so cool. I am still an 80′s nut and I still listen to Duran Duran till this day. They sure don’t make music like that anymore. My mother was a huge Luther Vandross fan back in the day, but I never got into him, but that’s an awesome story to tell being offered something like that. Now I will have to say that my favorite is #9 because I can’t stand snakes either. My boyfriend is a prankster and loves to pull crap like that on me. I don’t care for anything that slithers or even worms for that matter. I just won’t touch it. I loved this Q…thank you for participating. I can always count on you bro and I really appreciate the support.
This is great I hope no one thinks I am weird for these things lol
1. I believe in the astrological signs a lot as a matter of fact when getting to know people I usually like to know their signs so I can know how to approach them better
2. I watch Twilight each and every time it comes on cable tv and I must watch all 3 back to back
3. I have never been on a plane and I do mean never
4. I went to private school all my life but no one would ever know by the way I talk or act.
5. I like rock music
6. I love liver I know I am weird
7. I have always wanted to be a writer but never had the guts to really go after my dream.
8. I have never been to Disney World

My black sista! OMG! I was the only black girl in my high school that hung out with the “Stoners” (no pun intended) and they thought me listening to Heavy Metal was way cool! My boyfriends girls Love Twilight and attend the midnight showing every time it comes out. They read all the books and seen all the movies more then I can count. Never been on a plane…don’t trip, neither will my man or mother. My favorite would have to be 5! This is so fun, and thank you for participating!

Ryan,
How about one more? This time for planning. I wanted to average 7.5 out of 10 for my degree. At the end of my degree I averaged “exact 7.5″ even if I got grades as 8.49. 6.5,7.3 etc in various semesters.

Your last post on playing the guitar was very cool. I love that you speak “geek” (engineer) because when I have a question, I am coming for you! Now what countries in Europe have you traveled to and what was your favorite? I haven’t even been out of the US, so I envy that you are well traveled! I have a friend who doesn’t even work (unemployed) but has so many miles it will make your head spin. He is all over the world on a dime if you can believe that! Stocks, I follow because my boyfriend is a day trader junkie! Salsa dance, I would have to see that! My favorite I will have to say is #5. I want to travel to Egypt one day and visit the Pyramids! Thanks for participating Ash!

In Europe, I have travelled Germany, UK , Luxemborg, Italy, France, Holland, Austria and they all happened because of my consulting job. I love Germany for Autobahns ( seriously, hire a car and let it go on autobahn), France for its pristine beauty and UK for its open and variety of culture. Italy is awesome for learning history.
Whole Europe is amazing. Right now I am exploring interiors of south India.

Is it tropical in India? There was a big IT company in India that was all the rage during the dotcom days and wondered if it was still there. I think it was called Infosys..something like that. The autobahn I hear is “NO JOKE” and you will get a ticket for going too SLOW! Now Italy is another dream to visit for me because I love me some Italians! ROCKY!
Twitter: blogaks
July 21, 2011 at 5:29 pm -
Infosys survived and is a giant today. It has made hundreds of employees rich, a really ethical company ( hard to find these days) but too much bureaucratic and low risk taker. Now it is in some trouble because of its business model.
70 kmph is the starting speed on Auto Bahn and 70 is the slowest lane. Middle lane is around 160 and left most lane is >200kmph
.
India is hot normally but can be really cold up north. Overall you can get multiple climates(very hot to cold to humid) in the same season in one country
Twitter: LogAllot
July 21, 2011 at 5:54 pm -
I can’t believe I remembered that. I remember seeing this piece on the news after the dotcom burst and some were moving back to india and how that company was getting Americans to move there to work for them. I have a friend that lived in Germany for years and got a souped up car just for the autobahn. 70 is slow lane…wow, I wish the slow drivers in California just drove 75!
Ashvini, that is a pretty intense list! How exactly did you get into mining engineering? That had to be a passion from a young age I’m assuming?

Sal,
Hahah that is funny !!! No, I did not have any such passion to go into dark caves ( I am not batman
). Actually I received a rank of 2367 in my engineering exam and the only thing available was mining engineering in the college of my choice. I had to take it up just to get in the college. So just my luck
but it was fun to do college project inside deep excavation mines
Ha! Yes, you totally have to know when to shut up! Nice! Ok.. ok.. so here we go.
1. I eat mad healthy for 6 days out of the week, and binge with whatever I want the other day.
2. I feel guilty if I haven’t exercised like a madman for more than 3 days. Guess that’s what keeps me in shape!
3. Don’t know if this is odd, but I guess because not too many people do this, it could be! I meditate at least 4 times a week. It clears my mind in a way nothing else can.
4. During the week, I do everything I can to not drink any coffee, beer or wine after 7P.M. If I do, I’ll be up at 3 in the morning trying to make my biochemistry balanced again by eating something!
5. I write down what my life is about, and what my goals are, everyday in the morning.
6. I actually watch fox news video in the morning, even though I’ve always hated news.
7. Even when I know my tank is low in my car, I wait to the last minute to get gas!
8. I’m tidy. Nothing can be out of place in my apartment. Well.. sometimes I let it go, but it’s hard to have something out of place!
9. I spend a lot of time by myself, thinking about I’m going to do next! Always planning. There’s always an objective, not much randomness.
10. I am really into brain science. It fascinates the crap out of me!
Thanks for letting me participate in this. FUN!

R…my friend, bro and colleague! You healthy nut! Meditation is something I know I need to get into because of the stresses in my life over the last 10 years. Writing down my goals is something I know I need to incorporate in my daily life is this will keep me on track, but I tend to keep a log in my brain. You are the brainest man I know on this planet and I am honored to know an awesome person that has already taught me so much. The car thing is me to a tee, and I use to always tell my friends, if you run out of gas, don’t expect me to push. Talk about calling the kettle black, I will let get till where there is a drop left and then go get gas, but watch the line obsessively till I get home. I have this fear of running out of gas in the middle of nowhere, but won’t get the gas when I know I need it. How silly is that? I would have to say my favorite is # 1. I wish I could do that, but my body loves food too much! Thanks for playing along Ryan! I loved this!
Dude, #7 is right on the money. I usually wait till I have about 2 miles left till E before I even START thinking about pulling over for gas. Nice!
Twitter: LogAllot
July 25, 2011 at 2:40 am -
I always wait till the last minute and then tell everyone else that do this that I refuse to push their car if they run out of gas. LOL!
10 things huh? I wish I was that interesting. I’ll just add things until I run out.
1. I used to bring Big Gulps to practice for the swim team.
2. I stole a car with my best friend once. It was his dads. He called the cops on us. We just wanted Big Gulps.
3. I have an AA in Business Management. It means nothing.
4. Huge Hunter S. Thompson fan. Screw authority, convention and the status quo.
5. I’m a web developer/ designer and VFX student (teaching myself)
6. Love Jack Daniels and Diet Coke
7. Sold pot once……..to myself. I was a terrible drug dealer. I used up all my profits on myself. Kind of weird since I have a Business degree..See, it doesn’t work.
8.Played Baseball in HS. Sucked at it, Played Golf, was a little better, not much.
9. I knocked my front teeth out on a jello slip-n-slide right after I got my braces off……don;t ask.
10. I have an extremely loving, intelligent, and beautiful wife who blessed me with two wonderful children. I don’t deserve her, but I try to let her know she and our kids are my everything everyday.
Twitter: LogAllot
July 21, 2011 at 6:32 pm -
LMAO! Right off the bat, my favorite is #7. That was perfect…being your own drug dealer is never good…I think I remember a quote from NWA (Rap Group) about that. Big gulps! Now how are you gonna bring soda after a workout? That was funny, but I have to ask, on #9 how you actually did that. I so want the details on that one. I am still laughing at your last post I was in tears 30 minutes ago. Thanks Brad for participating…this was funny!
Hahaha – yeah I think the lyric goes, “Don’t get high of your own supply”. It was good advice I never followed..Ohh well…
As for #9, It was in HS and they had a fun day with a slip-n-slide full of jello. People would run and do the best trick and slide across it. As I mentioned I was on the swim team, so when it was my turn I jumped about 3feet in the air and about 6 feet outwards onto it and instinct from the swim team told my brain to dive, dive..So I lowered my face into the slip-n-slide spitting front teeth out as I went along… I took 2nd Place.

July 21, 2011 at 9:15 pm -
LMAO! Oh my god that was so funny. At least you placed. Did you at least get a medal? See I would of medaled considering I don’t know how to swim, but jello would of been fine with me.
I’m playing!
1. Do you excel at a particular sport?
Nope. Unless eating counts. And if it does, I’m an Olympian.
2. Have you seen a certain movie thousands of times?
I’m too embarrassed to admit this: I watched “Titanic” in the movie theater 5 times… that’s not bad, though, right? 5 is not 1,000?
3. Are you obsessed with certain foods?
If it has butter in it or can be dipped in ranch dressing, count me in.
4. Do you promote something unique and different that no one has ever heard of?
Myself?
5. Do you have some unique goals your trying to meet? What are they?
Blog-wise, I would love to be able to write more regularly and exercise that muscle. Also, more loyal readers wouldn’t be bad…
6. Do you make anything cool?
Motherhood and elastic waistbands. Oh, and laziness.
Twitter: LogAllot
July 21, 2011 at 7:02 pm -
I remember when Titanic came out…what a craze that was! # 3 is my favorite hands down, I love butter, but for me it’s all about the MAYO!. No mayo, no sandwich!
Unfortunately, I have to fess up. I saw Titanic 6 times during the first week it was out. I went with 6 different groups of friends and by the 3rd time, I was looking for video slip-up. Did you know that you can see the shadow of the boon used when filming a scene on the deck of the ship. You can also see the camera man during the provocative hand print on the fogged glass scene.
Also…what exactly can’t be dipped in ranch???
Twitter: LogAllot
July 25, 2011 at 2:42 am -
I only saw it once when it came out, but know someone that saw it 10 times at the movies. The popularity of that movie when it came out was in sane! Now if that was Star Wars and I was old enough to even know what the movie was (I was only 7 when it came out) I would have been all over that.
Oops. I didn’t follow directions. I answered the questions I wasn’t supposed to answer… FAIL. Okay, lemme add 5 more things:
1. I don’t like watching really old people eat. It grosses me out.
2. I don’t like people to touch me if they haven’t washed their hands after eating.
3. I have to have sunflower seeds on road trips.
4. I don’t like cantaloup.
5. I did the Atkins diet once and lost 25 pounds. But quit because my breath and pee stank so bad. TMI?
Twitter: LogAllot
July 21, 2011 at 6:43 pm -
LMAO! ok #5 is my favorite. I heard that about that diet and shamelessly, I tried it to years back, but I didn’t have that recourse thank god. I think I was popping so much peppermint I had super mint breathe! Sunflowers are a must when I am just bored and need something to do. Thank you Jennifer for playing along and feel free to add more!
Ok here goes, lol!!
1. I love Fame(the TV show), I wanted to be in show business
2. I’m shy, so obviously I don’t know how I wanted to be in show biz
3. I’m impatient (character flaw, working on it)
4. I’m a chocoholic
5. I love musicals & old school movies (West Side Story, Some Like it Hot, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, etc)

Hey you! How are you? LOL! I loved this…now you know I have to mark #8 as my favorite. You know black people can’t swim, well at least this one can’t. I love water, dolphins..blah blah blah and can’t swim a lick! I remember watching Fame when I was growing up and Lee Curerri is actually on my Facebook. He is still so cute, but doesn’t have the curly hair. Thank you so much for dropping by to participate.
Well this certainly sounds like a fun game. Guess I’ll take a crack at it.
1. I drink beer. Who doesn’t? I don’t have anything else to say about that.
2. I once ran through a screen door and won. I once ran into a glass door and lost.
3. I’m Polish. Which means I’m smart, devastatingly handsome, strong as an ox and occasionally intelligent. And I like potatoes.
4. I couldn’t build a bird house if you asked me to. The robin that sits on the window sill and stares at me never lets me forget it either.
5. I can be a bit of a prankster. Never maliciously. In fact, I just left a stainless steel kitchen size trash barrel on the front seat of my friends jeep who’s currently at work. Sharing is caring.
6. I have a receding hairline which means I get to shave my head and never have to pay for hair gel, hair cuts, or expensive bottles of shampoo.
7. I used to by expensive clothes until I got tired of my shirts eating half my food. Now I buy moderately priced shirts and eat without napkins whenever I want to.
8. I’ve never failed. Ever.
9. I’m two parts extrovert, one part introvert.
10. I enjoy sarcasm. But only if it’s light hearted and humorous.
Great post idea!

6. I was honorably discharged from the Army last month and currently don’t work because I have enough income from my blog.
7. I’m currently working on launching a social media game focused on Twitter.
8. I have a 2 year old daughter who is absolutely awesome. We fist bump instead of giving each other fives…and we have a secret handshake (which includes fist bumping).
9. I have a bachelor’s degree and I’m headed back to school for more education this fall or next spring.
10. At 26 years old, I can still barely grow facial hair, but I’m working on growing one that will hopefully someday resemble the way Bradley Cooper usually sports his.
How’s that?

Wow! Now that is pretty awesome Nick! Your like me in eating certain foods a particular way. I eat snicker bars top first and then the bottom for the last 20 years, but I have since given up candy. I am in love with the Italian culture, so let me know how “easy” it is with Rosettta Stone. I have seen the commercials, but never knew anyone that actually bought the product. Now my ultimate favorite has to be #8. I am a sucker for kids and the fist bumping has to be the coolest thing I have heard. I totally loved that. Nicholas, welcome and thank you so much for participating. The stuff about you was amazing and super cool!
Actually, the Rosetta Stone is the funnest and easiest language learning I’ve ever been a part of. I took Spanish, French, and Latin in High School and none of them compare to Rosetta Stone. It’s really amazing.

I’m allergic to chatterbox-type people.

Hey Kris, welcome! Right off the bat my favorite is #1. I have got to know who you met because I was into 80′s Hair Metal big time when I was in high school? Spill the beans! I wore braces too during high school man they hurt when they first put them on. Now they have invisalign and kids don’t have to look like “brace face anymore” lucky ducks! Drowning is no joke and probably why I am very cautious when I go fishing on a lake. My boyfriend says I am just too paranoid, but lets see how he likes it if he fell into the water. Wait he knows how to swim..no fair! I have to check out your cook book because mom’s create some cool ideas and most of that comes from their kids. Thank you so much for stopping by Kris and participating. This has been super fun and glad you became apart of it!

LMAO! Not to laugh at the Oreo accident, but I have never heard of that one. Was it milk and cookies? I love me some oreos and they can make you feel so bloated after if you eat them with milk. Glad your better and still here! They have a jury for a speeding ticket? Wow, that’s a first, here in California, you get a ticket, pay the fine and your done, but if you have to go to court, it’s like Russian roulette on when your last name is called and mine starts with “W” so I was there alllllllllll dayyyyyyyyyy longggggggggg! Coretta Scott King…are you kidding me? Hello! Dr. Martin Luther King…just in case anyone didn’t know. Geez…now that has to be my favorite #8, your mother picked the perfect name for an inspirational woman. Kinda like you! Thanks Coretta for participating and visiting my blog. Isn’t this fun!

Sal! You had some really cool stuff. My favorite has got to be #4 because when I was in high school I wanted to go into the Navy. Nuclear Reactor, if you were asked could you still remember how to use it? That is scary cool. Your kids are so beautiful and congrats on baby #4. I once owned a ferret once when I lived in Missouri and he was the cutest thing. He scratched allot, but he was so cool. Considering that I can’t swim, I would have loved to see you jump off a platform now to see if you still have it. If I did it, I would probably only end up doing a “belly flop” and half kill myself. These were so cool Sal and thank you for participating…isn’t this so fun!
This is fun…
I started partying with my dad when i was 17 (weird)
1) My favorite food is Cashews
2) I hate chewy foods
3) I hate to be tapped (like on the shoulder) It makes me so angry
4) I dont eat meat
5) I have a phobia of scary movies
6) I own my own online boutique
7) I love to wear my legs out
9) I wear heels 95% of the time
10) I dont like poop or fart jokes in real life or in movies…poop or fart is never funny to me

LMAO! That was great Estava! I would have to say my favorite has to be #5. I loveeeeee scary movies, but don’t care for the ones that are just too gory. High heels kills my feet to no end, but I love wearing them too when it calls for it. My party days ended when I hit 21 because I just never got into it. Call me square. What was that like partying with your dad? Where guys scared to approach you? I bet that was interesting. I have to hear about that. Now, that’s one cool dad!

Hey Sonia,
Just stumbled across this post of yours – it predates the time that I’ve known ya.
Loved your personal list here.
I think that you chose some fun movies to watch to pieces. lol I used to watch Are You Being Served religiously. Mrs. Slocombe used to crack me up with all her crazy easter egg coloured wigs!
